God is AMAZING!

God is amazing!!!! Last night I stayed up late to watch the New Spring Church web campus. Perry Noble, the Senior Pastor of New Spring Church is currently doing a series on Marriage. I encourage everyone to take an hour out of their day and listen to him. www.newspring.cc/webcampus/ . God speaks so clearly through him, it's amazing! Anyway his sermon yesterday was on "what's got to happen for a marriage to work?" I'm not going to go over the sermon but while Perry was rocking it, he said something that hit me hard! I really feel God putting this on my heart to share. So bear with me! :-)

I have a very close relative who is going through a hard time in their life and their marriage is falling apart. I pray for them every night. This person is not a believer but I truly believe that they will be one at the end of all this. God answered my prayers for this person while I was listening to Perry's sermon. God is up to something good and this person's life is going to be rocked so hard, they won't know what hit them! If you a reading this...know that I love you and care so much about you!

It blows me away that God can do this, that he can make something that is heavy on your heart, so light! That no matter how big or small an issue, he will make it better. People give up so many times on God because they go through a tough time, but he only makes us endure tough times to make us stronger. I am not perfect and I have made many mistakes in my life, but through everything God still loves me the same. Ever since I devoted my life to God and let him take control, I have felt so at peace. I still go through hard times, as everyone does, but I now know that I am going through them for a reason and in the end I am only going to be a stronger person.

I used to be so quiet about being a Christian, but lately I've learned to in order to let the word be known about God, you have to speak up. There are so many unsaved souls in our society. The only way they will come to know God is by people who know God, speak up. So I challenge you, speak up about God! Don't sit back and let others do it. Make a difference in our world! :-)

For the many people that know me, Switzerland has been the best thing for me. Not only am I playing the game I love, but I have become so much closer to God. Because of the people he has put in my life and through his word, I have learned so much! Thank you to everyone who has been there for me, in Idaho, Canada, and California. I love and miss you.

Have a blessed day!

SwItZeRlAnD

Here it is...the post you have all been waiting for. What am I really doing over in Switzerland and how I am doing...

Switzerland is such an amazing country. I am a huge fan on scenery. Beautiful scenery is what they have in Switzerland. The Alps are AMAZING! I come from a province (yes a province not a state :-P) that is known for their mountains but I have never seen something so beautiful as I have seen in the Alps. See for yourself...
This is a picture down the street from my flat (they call apts flats in Europe). I have yet to go and take pics of the cathedral but am planning on it. It`s breathtaking.

On our way to play Riva (team just 15 mins from Milano, on the Swiss boarder). We took the train so we got to see the Alps up close. This is a little church in the middle of a huge mountain. Amazing! :-)
The Alp on the right looks like a smaller version of the Matterhorn.
Now for the real reason im in Switzerland; to play basketball. I got to Switzerland on January 6th after waiting a few months for a contract. I jumped on this one as I wanted to play and was tired of waiting. The basketball in Switzerland is competitive at times. The league itself has its good and bad teams. Unfortunately I am on one of the not so good teams. I am trying my hardest to be positive but when you lose and don`t play together it gets hard. I have been relying on God so much. I really believe that is the reason I went here is to become closer to God. I have always had people to talk to back in Canada and Idaho but here its different. People aren't always there to talk when I need it. But for everyone who has been there for me, THANK YOU! You mean so much to me!!! So before I go further on my bunny trail I'll get back to Switzerland. haha My team consists of 3 professionals. My roommate Tereza, who is from Chech, Simona who is from Croatia, and myself who is from...haha i hope you know where i'm from...CANADA! :-) (Even though i'm marrying an American, I will always been a Canadian!) Love you Chris! :-D Well there I go again! haha if you haven't already noticed i'm a pro at going off subject. Just bear with me! Back to my team, other than the 3 prof, there are 3 other older players and then the rest of the team consists of Junior girls (age 15-18). The majority of the team is juniors. So it gets frustrating at times. So anyway, i'm trying to take this experience as a learning one. Learning to have patience, which at times I struggle with. :-) I have my good days and bad days, but don't we all? We have a game this sunday at 4pm against one of the worst teams in the league. We need this win big time! If you want to follow the progress of the team and stats you can check out this website. It's in french but it's pretty easy to understand. http://www.lnba.ch/calendrier.php?m_f=1&ligue=126&tour=2 I play for BCF Elfic Fribourg. By clicking on the final score you will be able to check the stats. As for practices, we practice 6 times a week at night time. During the day we have an hour that we can go and shoot or lift on our own.

Outside of basketball I do a lot of walking and love going to the center to go shopping, for food that is! :-P I've only been shopping once since i've been here, thats really good for me! :-) My roommate is so nice. We spend a lot of time together. When i'm not at the center or practice I am at home. This is a picture of one of parts of the center. The sunset was beautiful, as you can see.

My roommate and I don't have a car so it makes it a little difficult to travel. We are planning on going to see the Mattahorn in the next month or so. For us disney fans, it's a big deal to see! haha not only that but it's very famous. Don't worry you will be updated right away when we figure out when we're going.

Well thats all I have for right now. Sorry for making you wait longer than I said for this. Have a great day. Stay posted for more!

Love Nat

Siren's in Fribourg

Okay so today I was eating lunch at the same restaurant as I usually do. (I get free lunch 5 times a week at the same restaurant-that's a whole other blog in itself). So anyway I was eating and all of a sudden I heard loud sirens. I was with a couple girls who have been in Switzerland for a few years, and they said this was normal. So it turned out to be a practice war siren. If they were at war they would ring these sirens to alert the city to go and hide. I was scared at first as we don't have sirens in Canada or the USA. The girls assured me it was only a drill. Thank God :-) I have a video of my roommate, Tereza and me being silly during the sirens. It was so crazy. They went on for about an hour, around 10 min in between each siren.

I'm planning on adding some pictures of Switzerland in the next couple days and I will be updating you on how things are going on here. I am going shopping in a little while! I've resisted this long and can't resist it anymore! haha. Don't worry they have great sales on right now! :-D

Have a great day and stay posted!
